Checked 16 October 2026 against Konami's app promotion, Symphony of the Night announcement and Grimoire of Souls site. They are separate products: the anniversary offer does not unlock either of the other games.
Update history
: Reviewed linked sources, availability and the scope of the answers below. Reported findings are distinguished from publisher specifications and editorial recommendations.
Three different apps
The 40th anniversary app is the NES original, free to claim through 24 October 2026, 23:59 JST, without external controller support. Konami says players who download within the promotion can continue downloading and playing afterward. Official store links are on the app page.
Konami's 4 March 2020 announcement lists the separate Symphony of the Night mobile port at £2.99 / €3.49 at launch. Those are historical prices, not a checked 2026 price or part of the anniversary giveaway.
Official Symphony of the Night mobile links from that announcement: App Store and Google Play. The Apple link opens the announcement's UK storefront; prices and availability elsewhere can differ.
The official Grimoire of Souls site dates its Apple Arcade release to 17 September 2021 and explicitly says service terminated on 3 September 2026 (JST). The earlier 20 August delisting claim and online-only claim are not established by this page and are not treated as verified here. Do not assume a playable offline build survives.
What I did not find
The Belmont's Curse platform buttons list console and PC, not iOS or Android. Its Steam Demo is also a separate product from the anniversary app.
