Checked 16 October 2026: Konami's free-app page says 24 October 2026, 23:59 JST. Its own store links lead to Castlevania: 40th Anniversary; the US Apple lookup lists KONAMI as seller and a zero price.

Window and stores
The official promotion page offers the NES original from 25 September 2026 through 24 October 2026, 23:59 JST. It says players who download during that period can continue to download and play afterward. That is a limited claim window, not a perpetual free listing for new users.
The US Apple listing data, checked 16 October 2026, reports version 1.0.1, a zero USD price, minimum iOS 15.6 and a file size of 6,213,632 bytes. That is Apple's listed file size, not a measured installed footprint or an Android requirement.
Limits
Konami's Important Notice says external game controllers are not supported. The linked Google Play description and App Store listing describe a direct port with a visual touchpad and offline play. This page has not independently tested those features.
This is not a browser game, Belmont's Curse or Symphony of the Night. The offer was still within its announced window on 16 October 2026. After 24 October at 23:59 JST, new users must not assume it remains free even if this guide URL is still available.
